We are an international company with more than 25 years of experience in the retail world.

With a portfolio of standard, customized and fully custom products, we offer end-to-end services, including design engineering, manufacture, project management and execution of comprehensive retail environments.

Our origins date back to 1987, when photographer and entrepreneur Lino Manfrotto realized that New York retailers were using Autopole in their window displays and store interiors.

Soon thereafter, to clearly differentiate itself from the original photographic business, ALU opened its first showroom in New York.

In 1992, following the company’s great American success, ALU plunged into the European market.

Since its founding, ALU has worked with international retail leaders and premium brands such as Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Sears, Hudson Bay, Debenhams, H&M, Zara, GAP, Benetton, Sony, Bank of America, Ray Ban, Luxottica, Helly Hansen, Wrangler, Deutsche Bank, BMW/Mini, Nokia, and Chevrolet Europe, among others.

ALU headquarters are located in Romano d’Ezzelino (Italy). We currently maintain subsidiaries in New York, Paris and Amsterdam, as well as distributors around the world.

Autopole continues to be a bestseller worldwide.

In November 2009, MoMA New York added both Autopole and Superclamp to its permanent design and architecture collection.

ALU provides three categories of product that allow clients to reinvent their space in precisely the way they want: standard, customized and custom.

Standard products: The standard range consists of a wide variety of smart, durable, off-the-shelf solutions for communication, visual merchandising and display. The standard range is updated regularly.

Customized products: We understand the crucial importance of a client’s identity. For this reason, we make certain that all of our standard systems can be personalized in detailed ways to meet the specific needs - size, finish, specifications, message and mood - of a client in order to cultivate a more branded environment.

Custom products: As an all-round solutions provider, this is our ultimate proposition to our most exacting clients. Our in-house designers enjoy working with clients to envision their own made-to-measure, bespoke systems/solutions totally in line with their Brand identity. This is an integrated and pragmatic design process where we take an aesthetic and artistic approach. This allows ALU to construct immersively branded retail environments and, going far beyond a design role, to collaborate with the customer to create a coherent brand experience. SERVICES

To best support our clients, in addition to products we also provide a series of services which range from project management to shop execution. All of our products and services can be offered to clients anywhere in the world.

Product & Production Engineering: Product engineering starts from a brief, a design specification or existing samples. After product development and prototyping, we perform any necessary value engineering and proceed with the most appropriate production engineering to suit the project’s goals.

Project Management: Dedicated project managers are assigned to each project. They collaborate closely with the client to guarantee timely and successful execution of all aspects of the project from its inception through delivery.

Manufacturing & Logistics: Our broad manufacturing network enables us to offer our clients unrestricted production solutions to best suit the client’s unique specification, volume and destination requirements.

Shop Execution: For our most demanding clients, we offer full turnkey solutions including site surveying, store design, project management, general contracting, fixtures installation and maintenance.

Third Party Products: Our product and service offering further extends to any third party products that might be necessary to complete a project.
